Douglas coastguard, lifeboat, police and paramedics had to rescue a man last night from the water.
He had entered the water opposite the promenade Methodist church and was helped onto the sea wall by a police officer until the coastguard turned up to aid.
The lifeboat then provided a dinghy by which the man could be pulled onto the steps.
