A man accused of choking his girlfriend until she passed out has been bailed.
Nicholas John Trigg of Loch Promenade in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
At an earlier hearing, he pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm at his partner’s home on Hillside Avenue in Douglas on February 27.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court the pair argued after drinking at a friend’s home, and neighbours called police after spotting his girlfriend lying on the ground.
After hearing his partner didn’t want to press charges, magistrates bailed the 49 year old to her address in the sum of £500 with conditions he surrenders his passport, reports to police daily and doesn’t contact witnesses in the case.
He’ll appear in court again on May 5.
