A man who punched a 13-year-old boy later hurled racist abuse at a police officer, a court’s heard.
Lewis Jack Moulder Kelly of Hutchinson Square in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 22-year-old admitted disorderly behaviour, assault and provoking behaviour on November 11.
The court heard less than a month after being released from prison, Kelly assaulted the 13 year old on Snugborough Avenue in Union Mills while drunk, before throwing a punch at a passer-by who tried to intervene.
Police arrested him, but at police headquarters he shouted two racial slurs at an officer before telling him to go back to his own country.
After hearing Kelly had a long-standing alcohol problem, Mrs Hughes jailed him for a total of 20 weeks.
