A man’s been jailed for 22 weeks for assaulting and resisting police.
Ryan Kneen of Close Y Lherghy in Union Mills appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse via a live video link from the Isle of Man Prison.
The 30 year old had previously pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer and resisting officers in the execution of their duties in Royal Court in Onchan on November 19.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing police had been called to a disturbance and Kneen, who was extremely drunk, headbutted an officer as he was being taken into custody.
She withdrew an allegation of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Mrs Hughes told Kneen alcohol was something he clearly needed to deal with, and jailed him for a total of 22 weeks.
