A Manx student has told a court he'll never have a full-time job after a speeding motorist knocked him down in Manchester.
The 21 year old was knocked off his bicycle by Junaid Dar of Bolton, who admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving on April 12 last year.
He was jailed for 28 months after the court heard his victim spent five days in a coma and had to learn to walk and talk again following the incident.
The hearing at Manchester Crown Court was told he'd had a promising career in sport and had to get special permission to return to the Island to be with his family because of coronavirus restrictions.
