A man accused of assaulting a former friend in a jacuzzi at the NSC will appear in court again in February.
Ryan Jones of Queens Promenade in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 29 year old hasn’t yet entered a plea to causing actual bodily harm on January 16.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing Mr Jones approached a man from behind, put his arm around his neck and forced him underwater as well as punching him repeatedly before staff and onlookers intervened.
Mr Jones is also said to have sent a number of threatening messages before the attack, which was said to be over money owed to him.
Magistrates bailed him in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t enter the NSC or its grounds, contact any witnesses, or leave the Island without permission.
He’ll appear in court again on February 1.
