42 year old Farrell Iveagh, of Derby Square, is said to have blown 82 on a breathalyser test after being stopped on Victoria Road in Douglas on February 4.
The legal limit is 35.
He denies drink-driving, and Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood bailed him to appear again at a pre-trial review hearing on August 13.
