A man appeared in court on Christmas Eve charged with a serious assault on a female earlier last week.
A 36-year-old Douglas male assaulted a female causing her facial and head injuries.
Armed officers arrested him at a property on Christian Road last Thursday; the road was temporarily shut off for this to happen.
