Demanding another drink after a pub closed and refusing to leave when asked has cost a Port Erin man more than £1,000.
Christopher Thomas Davis of Close Corneil appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 41-year- old admitted disorderly behaviour on licensed premises at the Haven in Port Erin on November 15.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court unemployed Davis had drunk up to six pints and a large Jack Daniels in the pub but became abusive towards staff and customers when the bar closed at 11pm.
The hearing was told he ran around shadow-boxing other pubgoers and abused police officers who arrived after staff reported him.
Defence advocate Laurence Vaughan-Williams told the bench Davis had been scared the police were about to attack him.
Fining Davis £900 and ordering him to pay £125 costs, magistrates told him he’d have been much better off financially had he listened to police when they told him to leave.
