Police have confirmed that a 58 year old man from Glen Maye has died on Foxdale Road after coming off a quad bike.
It happened at around 12:40pm as he was heading from Stoney Mountain towards Douglas, near to the junction that leads to Archallagan Plantation.
The quad bike is orange and black with distinctive chrome and black wheels, and officers ask for anyone who may have seen the rider or have dash cam footage to contact Peel Police Station.
No other vehicles were involved, but Foxdale Road remains closed from the Garth Crossroads to Eairy Dam until 6pm at the earliest.
