A man’s denied punching his girlfriend in the face so hard she needed five stitches.
Charlton Andrew Gary Watterson of Empire Terrace in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes this week.
He’s facing a total of 10 charges – four of theft, one of handling stolen goods, possessing drugs, failing to provide a blood specimen, taking a van without its owners consent and causing actual bodily harm to his girlfriend.
He admitted stealing a £7.49 bottle of wine from Ellan Vannin Fuels on January 21 but denies the other allegations.
The court heard he’s alleged to have punched his girlfriend and held a butter knife to her throat after she asked him for a can of lager at his home.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on March 26.
