A man accused of indecently assaulting his ex-girlfriend as she slept will be tried in a Court of General Gaol Delivery.
Willen Alan Kelly of Doves Croft in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 21 year old pleaded not guilty to indecent assault on December 19 last year at his home.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the hearing Mr Kelly had gone home after a night out with his 19 year old partner, and the pair stripped to their underwear and went to bed together.
However, the court heard she awoke twice in the night to find his hand in her underwear - she moved his hand both times and was afraid he was trying to have sex with her.
Later, she broke off the relationship and reported the incident to police.
When interviewed, Mr Kelly gave a prepared statement saying the woman had consented and answered "no comment" to all questions put to him.
Magistrates said the case should be heard in the higher court, and bailed Mr Kelly in the sum of £500 to appear again on July 6.
