A Douglas man has been remanded in custody after being charged with GBH and being in possession of an offensive weapon.
29-year-old Mark William Thomas Bell is accused of GBH with intent against a 23-year-old woman and of having a pole in public.
Both offences are said to have taken place on May 29th in a lane near to Demesne Road in Douglas – the woman suffered serious injuries and was hospitalised.
Mr Bell didn’t enter a plea – he will next appear before the Magistrates’ Court on July 3rd via live link from Jurby.
A committal date for July 29th has also been set.
