A man’s avoided jail after being caught driving while banned twice in two weeks.
Kaan Harley Douglas of Kerrowmoar in Sulby appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted driving while disqualified, having no insurance and refusing to give police his details on February 5.
On February 16, the 28 year old was caught behind the wheel again and was charged with driving while disqualified and having no insurance - he pleaded guilty to both.
The court heard he ran a business and had driven in order to work but hadn’t been convicted of a crime for ten years.
Mrs Hughes sentenced him to a total of 16 weeks in prison for breaching the court order not to drive, suspended for two years.
He was also banned from the roads for a year and fined £800 in total as well as being ordered to pay £125 costs.
