A man with cerebral palsy can sue the Department of Health and Social Care over claims ill-treatment in care gave him PTSD.
The man, known as Claimant A, is suing over alleged breaches of care at the Hollydene home on Glencrutchery Road where he stayed for respite care in 2013, aged 18.
Deemster Needham denied an application by the department to have the case dismissed, saying the trial should go ahead despite how long ago the events are said to have taken place.
But he also ordered the claimant to file a more detailed claim of the alleged harm.
