A man’s avoided a ban after admitting being over the legal drug limit.
Jacob John Leece of St Germans Place in Peel appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 20 year old pleaded guilty to being in charge of a vehicle while over the cannabis limit and possessing cannabis on Arrasey Road in Glen Maye on November 27 last year.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing police spotted Leece in his VW Polo parked near a plantation, and noticed his eyes were glazed when they spoke to him.
He was arrested after failing a drug test and later turned out to be just over the limit – inside his car officers found 2.8 grams of cannabis worth £46.
Mrs Hughes fined him a total of £950 and put 10 penalty points on his licence as well as ordering him to pay £125 costs.
