Man arrested for possessing baton

Police have arrested a man this morning for having a steel baton in his car.

He was detained at the Sea Terminal with officers describing it as a 'good catch by port security'.

The telescopic cosh - which is a prohibited article - was described by police as a 'scary thing which could do serious harm'.

Writing on Twitter they said they are glad it is now in their hands.
