A section of Douglas Promenade has reopened this morning after a serious incident last night.
Police and the emergency services were called to the incident near the Palace Hotel shortly before 10pm.
The prom was shut between Castle Drive and Palace View Terrace until just before 4.30 this morning.
A man was arrested and remains in custody today.
