A man from Peel has admitted possessing more than 700 child porn images.
22 year old Joshua James Tweedy of Bluebell Close pleaded guilty to 10 counts of making indecent images of children when he appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes.
The hearing at Douglas Courthouse heard 565 images were at the lowest level on a scale used by police, while more than 100 were at level four - just one step below the most serious.
Prosecutor James Robinson said the images had been produced between December 2017 and March this year.
Mrs Hughes said the case was too serious to be dealt with by the summary courts, and she committed him to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing.
No bail application was made and Tweedy was remanded in custody to appear again on Monday, May 13.
