A man who wrongly claimed £25,000 in benefits will appear in court again in May.
Darren Shafik-Mikail of Carrick Park in Sulby was due to appear before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse, but was excused appearing because of the Island’s Covid-19 restrictions.
At a previous hearing, he’d admitted five counts of benefits fraud between January 2018 and June last year.
The court heard the 44 year old failed to declare two properties in the US and Ireland worth £570,000 when he claimed jobseeker’s allowance.
Mrs Hughes continued Mr Shafik-Mikail’s bail and he’s due to appear in court again on May 11.
