The acknowledgement has come from the Island's Preservation of War Memorials Committee, who seek to encourage the proper upkeep of the important sites across the Isle of Man.
Douglas Council recently commissioned a stonemason to re grout the names of the deceased, along with maintenance and a general tidy up of the site.
The local authority says such work is vital in preserving a memorial of national significance which acts as a fitting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Next May the memorial will celebrate its centenary year.
