A duck has had a lucky escape, after being run over last night.
Manx Wild Bird Aid took to social media to share the update, which consequently falls on 'World Animal Day'.
The charity says the white duck was picked up on Tromode Road yesterday evening by a couple who saw the vehicle in front of theirs drive straight over the top of him.
Despite his injuries, the charity is hopeful he'll live - as his injuries aren't significant.
In the post, those behind Manx Wild Bird Aid say they're not sure if it was a deliberate attempt to injure the duck, but it seems the driver didn't try to avoid him, or stop to make sure he was okay.
All those at the charity are volunteers - and they've described it as 'heartbreaking' when people simply don't care and leave others to deal with the consequences - they've urged drivers to be careful around wildlife on our roads.
