Longstanding government minister had 'more to give'

A long standing government minister has been told he had "much more to give".

Douglas West MHK John Shimmin has been relieved of his constituency responsibility following the dissolution of the House of Keys this week. 
 
He's standing down after 20-years in politics although will remain the Policy and Reform Minister until after the General Election: 
 
 
Throughout his career he contested four elections and spent 14-years as a minister heading up various departments including Economic Development, Home Affairs and Transport. 
 
Paying tribute to him Tynwald President Steve Rodan said the former teacher had left his mark:
