A London man’s appeared in court, accused of carrying out an attack that left a Douglas club-goer with a brain haemorrhage.
Finlay Lewis Laing of Cavendish Place in Clapham appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 23 year old denies causing grievous bodily harm in Villiers Square in the capital on October 30 last year.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing Mr Laing is said to have barged through a group of people outside 1886 Bar and Restaurant, starting a row.
The court heard he pushed one man backwards before punching him to the ground, knocking him unconscious and fracturing his skull.
Magistrates said the case was so serious it would be heard in the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
They bailed Mr Laing in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t contact witnesses, andhe’ll next appear on October 5.
