With debates on gun control raging in the United States we’ve spoken to an Island resident who made the move here based on that very issue.
Douglas Stewart decided enough was enough when a councillor in his former place of residence, Las Vegas, was pushing to have teachers armed.
This prompted a move away from the bright lights to the Isle of Man with his wife and daughter, who was just six at the time.
As we found out it took the visit of a close friend to make Douglas aware of the safer way of life in the Isle of Man:
