Debbie Barron achieves her ambition of becoming the first Manx born woman ever to compete in and complete the Southern 100 Races as an F2 driver.
A local lifeguard has made history at the Southern 100 races.
Debbie Barron, from Braddan, achieved one of her ambitions by becoming the first Manx born woman ever to compete in and complete the Southern 100 Races as an F2 driver.
The NSC worker was the driver of an outfit competing under the banner Team Oscar Racing.
Her fastest lap was an average of over 80 miles per hour.
It was only her first season last year after taking up racing in 2009.
Debbie told 3FM she never thought she would achieve her goals as a sidecar driver this quickly. She said if she can do it, anybody can. (audio above)
Debbie said she would love to take part in the TT if she can gain enough sponsorship.
