Snowboarding Ace One Of Two Britons Picked For The UK Snowboarding Squad
A star snowboarder from King William’s College has been picked to represent Great Britain at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival.
Jonny Chan became the British Junior Champion last year, and is one of only 2 Brits that will be competing in the snowboarding events at the festival.
It’s all the more impressive given that Jonny only started to take it seriously two years ago, with other Island star Zoe Gillings acting as his personal mentor.
The festival for teens aged between 14 and 18 will see Jonny face tough competition from fellow 'boarders from the other 47 competing countries.
With his rising profile it would seem that the Island is fast becoming one the UK’s top providers of snowboarding talent.
Jonny told us he only picked it up on the occasional family skiing trip as a young boy.
