Castletown commissioners are hoping to get a new works depot on garages off Westhill Avenue.
The local authority has applied for planning permission to build the new site, which would house vehicles, equipment and workshops.
In the application, commissioners say they're currently using a temporary site at the town's former fire station and have sold a previous depot on Alexandra Road.
And they add although the proposed site, which they own, is zoned for residential use it's never been used for housing.
