A Liverpool woman has admitted trying to smuggle heroin to the Isle of Man on the eve of her 40th birthday.
Sharon Kirk was stopped by police at the Sea Terminal on February 17th after arriving as a foot passenger from Heysham.
Officers arrested the Norris Green woman and took her to hospital where an x-ray showed she had three packages concealed internally.
Forensic testing was carried out which determined she was carrying almost 84 grams of heroin - a haul which had a street value of between £6,000 and £7,000.
At Douglas Courthouse earlier this week she admitted producing the Class A drug and possession of it with intent to supply.
Kirk was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing - there was no application for bail and she was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until her next appearance on April 15th.
