The Department of Infrastructure says it doesn't know how much the Liverpool ferry terminal has cost - and giving estimates could mislead the public.
A Freedom of Information request to the department asked for the total cost of the facility on the Princes Half-Tide Dock.
But the DOI has refused the request, saying the total price tag is currently unknown because of disputes, unresolved liabilities, and possible refunds for breaches or defective work.
And in its response, it says providing incomplete, provisional, or speculative figures would risk misleading people.
