A landmark lighthouse could be in for some high-tech changes, if a planning application is successful.
The Northern Lighthouse Board has revealed it wants to transform Douglas Lighthouse, and has applied for both planning permission and registered building consent.
The organisation says it plans to replace its 30-year-old lamps with new LED lights, and replace old electrical fittings and control systems.
It also wants to upgrade doors and handrails as well as redecorate the tower and welfare block.
