Douglas lifeboat was called out last night after reports of someone entering the sea off Douglas beach.
The volunteer crew was called out shortly before 10pm, in search of a person entering the sea opposite the Empress Hotel on Loch Promenade.
The RNLI-all weather lifeboat Marine Engineer was launched to help Coastguards and Police, who were already at the scene.
However, after a thorough search the missing person was reported to have been found safe and well.
