The Isle of Man’s Lieutenant Governor has been made Patron of Peel’s RNLI station.
To mark the occassion - Sir John Lorimer and his wife Philippa joined the crew aboard its new Shannon class lifeboat for a training exercise on Sunday.
Under calm and sunny conditions, the crew demonstrated the £2.2m lifeboat’s capabilities - being the most advanced lifeboat in the RNLI fleet.
The new lifeboat will be named on May 14, new lifeboat, before the RNLI celebrates its 200th Anniversary in 2024.
