There are less than 25 residential home places on the Island.
Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford confirmed the figure in the House of Keys this week.
Douglas South MHK Kate Beecroft quizzed the minister about the number of vacancies on the Island, and the average cost per bed.
He said according to the latest figures registered with the Regulation of Care Act 2013,there are 17 places for care homes without nursing, and only seven places for homes that do provide additional care.
