The Economic Development Minister has allayed fears that a revamped workers' bill will make the Island’s job market more competitive.
Earlier this week the House of Keys voted unanimously to support the bill which will see the work permit system modernised.
One of the main points of the new legislation is that it will be much easier for employers to recruit off-Island workers.
John Shimmin says the system will endeavour to open up the job market and create more opportunities:
