Reforming the Legislative Council election process will be good for Manx politics.
That's the view of the Chief Minister who's welcomed the Elections to Legislative Council Act 2017:
As well as the election process becoming public, a simple majority will replace the 13-vote majority which was previously required to secure an appointment.
Formal hustings will also be introduced so that all candidates are known to politicians in advance of the election.
