A local charity is thanking a primary school for 'setting an example, which is being watched by the world.'
Beach Buddies Isle of Man is praising Laxey primary school as pupils, teachers, parents, commissioners, MHKS and residents got together for a comminty clean-up in the village.
Following a visit from the charity in 2017 it says the school has been setting 'fantastic standards' and has instigated a number of positive changes - including encouraging local food outlets and bars to remove single-use plastics.
Beach Buddies has also announced the school's actions are being watched and adopted by a school on the other side of the planet - in Thailand!
In a post on social media the charity says: 'This is exactly what this is all about. People getting together to show that all is not lost and that, together, we can make positive changes and look towards a better future.'
