Isle of Man Right to Expect UK to Represent Them Over KSF Collapse Says Report
The Isle of Man has come out very well in the Justice Committee’s report into the Crown Dependencies.
The report conducted under the leadership of Liberal Democrat MP Sir Alan Beith has cleared up some very contentious issues the Island has faced over the past 18 months.
Most notable of all is the fact that the Island was right to expect the UK to represent them during the collapse of KSF – it was by failing to do so that the relations between the UK and the Island first came into question.
The Island felt particularly hard done by when the UK Government ended the Reciprocal Health Agreement in the first instance – the lack of prior warning was branded wholly unacceptable given the previous strong links between the UK and the Island.
It’s thought as a knock on to the report the Isle of Man will no longer encounter the communication breakdowns with the UK experienced over the part year and a half.
