Nearly twenty jobs have been lost as three stores have closed today in the heart of Douglas.
Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis have closed permanently today after online fashion chain Boohoo bought the brands in a £25.2million deal which didn't include keeping the physical stores.
Douglas Town Centre Manager, Oliver Cheshire, has described it as 'really sad news' and the staff at the outlets will be 'greatly missed' in the town centre.
However, Mr Cheshire adds there is interest on and off Island in the now vacant store units and believes when the Manx borders reopen, some units which are empty could be filled.
