A Douglas man has been jailed after confronting his landlord with a hammer whilst drunk.
50-year-old Jonathan Richard Fletcher, of Derby Road, approached the man 'waving' the clawed tool just after 9.30am on August 6th.
He was unhappy about the noise being generated from work being carried out at the flats where he lived.
Fletcher later pleaded guilty to affray - and a separate charge of making annoying or nuisance telephone calls between August 2nd and 6th.
At Douglas Courthouse yesterday his advocate told the court it was a "step-up in the seriousness of his offending".
He said Fletcher was seeking help for his issues and was due to access behavioural therapy.
Sending him to prison for 22 weeks Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told him: "I'm giving you a clean slate when you come out of custody - make the most of it."
