36-year-old Stanko Sokolov was also banned from the road for six years when he was sentenced at Douglas Courthouse last week.
Police stopped him on Barrack Street in Douglas on December 6th last year after seeing him struggling to park his car - he was arrested and failed to give a breath sample.
On February 21st he was stopped again - this time on Victoria Road - after he was spotted leaving a party in his car; he failed a breath test and was recorded as being almost twice the legal limit.
Sokolov later pleaded guilty to charges of failing to provide a sample, drink driving and having no insurance.
His advocate told the court he'd made two "very grave mistakes" - the second being a matter of "almighty laziness".
Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said there was "no good reason" why he was driving adding there were "no grounds" to suspend the sentence.
She jailed him for eight weeks and disqualified him until he's retaken his test and undergone a drink drive rehabilitation course.
