Claims that the Isle of Man's Legal Aid system is 'going backwards' have been disputed by the Island's Acting Attorney General.
John Quinn was quizzed in Tynwald last month as to whether appropriate provisions are in place to ensure the public have access to justice when in conflict with government departments:
It was an issue raised by outgoing Onchan MHK Peter Karran who claimed aggrieved people's Legal Aid resources are being 'gobbled up' before they can even get to court.
However Mr Quinn says whilst there's always room for improvement he believes the Island system is 'appropriate and fair' to those who need it:
Government consulting with hospitality over licensing changes
Woman's fundraising with Army history walk
Two sailings cancelled and others at risk
Police witness appeal over weekend fight
