Island tribute for instrumental fire officer Hinnigan

The man who helped shape the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service will be honoured tomorrow.

A celebration is being held to mark the life of former chief fire officer John Hinnigan who died in January at the age of 83. 
 
Hinnigan held the senior post here for almost 20 years - at the time of his retirement in 1993 he was the longest-serving fire officer in the British Isles. 
 
Current chief fire officer Kevin Groom served alongside him and says he was instrumental:
