The Isle of Man should take inspiration from Finland, Canada and Malaysia if it wants to help people off benefits and back into work.
That's the message from occupational medicine specialist Doctor Geoff Helliwell who's given evidence to a Social Affairs Policy Review Committee.
He claims eight per cent of the working population on the Island is on disability benefits and says more needs to be done to make it "financially advantageous" to return to work.
The committee is hearing from a range of people following the decision to stop controversial assessments on those who were claiming - this week service users will share their thoughts.
Dr Helliwell told the committee government clearly needs to do more:
