The Island's Information Commissioner has signed international data protection agreements with Dubai and Malta.
The regulator says this will allow it to work with the foreign counterparts on joint projects.
It also means they can cooperate on investigations across borders.
The commissioner's been representing the Island at a global conference in South Korea, and plans to use knowledge brought back to help advise the Manx public on artificial intelligence.
