Island paid £153,000 to support Ukrainians fleeing war

The Cabinet Office has revealed how the Island helped Ukrainians fleeing the war in their home country.

A Freedom of Information request asked for information on how many had come to the Island and how much the government spent helping them.

In its response, the Cabinet Office says 123 Ukrainians came to the Island though the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, while 150 were granted status under Manx schemes.

It also revealed sponsors had been paid a total of just of £153,000 over two years.
