Being more open and pragmatic about drug use would mean a safer Island - that's according to Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson.
He was one of two Tynwald members at a public meeting this week that called for drugs to be decriminalised and regulated.
The event, jointly hosted by the Positive Action Group and Isle of Man Freethinkers, was told regulating drugs would undermine the illegal trade and make it easier for people to seek help with their problems.
Dr Allinson says it's an approach that makes more sense than a "war on drugs":
