The Isle of Man has led the way when it comes to introducing smoking bans in prisons.
The UK Government is now considering implementing a ban on smoking in all areas of jails in England and Wales.
Under the proposals a pilot scheme will be started next year with the ban likely to be in force by 2015.
The Island introduced a smoking ban in the prison in 2008.
