Island granted unique status for sport education

A unique status has been granted to the Island for educating high-performance athletes full-time.

University College Isle of Man and all secondary schools applied to Sport England's Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme, which provides young people to gain qualifications alongside their sporting pursuits.

The Isle of Man is the only juridsdiction in the British Isles to have its entire education system signed-up for the accreditation.

There are 33 potential sports stars who are receiving mentoring and access to elite facilities, performance services and workshops.
