The Manx Government is lobbying for the Island to become a permanent home for the secretariat of the British-Irish Council.
The news came following the BIC summit in Edinburgh which was attended by Chief and Social Security minister’s Tony Brown and Eddie Teare.
Mr Brown expressed an interest along with other members in hosting the secretariat, following BIC’s announcement they would be looking for a permanent location.
The ministers said the summit provided them with an insight into other countries views on the credit crunch.
